Great classic landmark establishment. They have been around since 1952. Juke boxes still work at the dining tables inside. True OG diner. Waitresses are all so sweet! Got to try everything on the menu multiple times. One bite and you will be back. Have the pastrami with a little mustard and fries or onion rings. Play some 50's or 60's music in the juke box and live the great diner long lost great people days! Come eat at Johnnies!

I can't believe it took me years to finally write a review for Johnny Pastrami, especially considering I've been here countless times. Shame on me! But better late than never, right? Let me start by saying that Johnny Pastrami is an absolute gem. Every visit is a nostalgic trip back in time, and I mean that in the best possible way. The moment you step through the door, you're greeted with the comforting aroma of freshly cooked pastrami and the sound of classic tunes from the '50s playing in the background. Now, let's talk about the food. Oh boy, where do I even begin? The pastrami is simply divine. It's tender, juicy, and packed with flavor that keeps me coming back for more every single time. And those fresh pickles? They're the perfect accompaniment, adding a delightful crunch and tanginess to each bite. But it's not just about the pastrami. Johnny Pastrami serves up some of the most delicious French fries and onion rings I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and always fresh out of the grease - they're downright addictive. And let's not forget about the excellent customer service. The staff at Johnny Pastrami are friendly, attentive, and always go above and beyond to ensure that every diner leaves with a smile on their face. It's no wonder this place has been around since 1952. Johnny Pastrami has mastered the art of serving up mouthwatering comfort food in a nostalgic atmosphere that keeps customers coming back time and time again. Plus, those little jukeboxes on the tables that take quarters and play music from the '50s? Pure genius. I absolutely love it. In conclusion, if you're craving a taste of nostalgia paired with incredible pastrami and classic comfort food, look no further than Johnny Pastrami. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. The long long long lines are worth standing in!

Heck yeah. Great great generous pastrami. Can't believe this place has been around longer than I have and it was near where I grew up up. Tried it for the first time 2 months ago. Enjoyed the hot pastrami (5/5), witnessed the chili fries with pastrami (insane mountain of salty goodness, didn't order but looked impressive), Cole slaw (tangy and sweet, 5/5). The onion rings are hit and miss. First time was a bit bland, 2nd visit they were spot on: crispy and fresh (5/5). I recall the chili wasn't bad either, but IIRC wasn't blown away. Generous table side pickle Pieces (5/5). They had only Coors on draft, which was fresh and refreshing. Berry pie didn't blow me away, they have a feee different ones but wasn't impressed. Yes this place hits the spot. Since 1952, doing it right. Service staff are friendly in the "no nonsense I've been here for 30 years" kind of way. Love the 50s vinyl booths inside, tableside chrome jukebox, and the picnic tables and fire pits outside in a sort of grotto, very charming. And they are open late-ish. I hope this place stays open for another 50 years!

I've seen this place so many times visiting Tito's tacos. I've also seen this place many times on social media. Some people love it and others hate it. I am on the love it side. Usually I see the comments too expensive. But you gotta pay the price for great food. It costs a lot to operate these historical locations and provide high quality food. We got the pastrami sandwich and we also got the chili cheese fries. The pastrami was sooo good. Thinly sliced and melted in my mouth. The hot mustard pairing was perfect. I destroyed this thing. The chili cheese fries came out piping hot. Crispy crinkle cut fries over beef chili. I annihilated this dish as well. It had a old school diner vibe inside. I think it's one of the best pastrami spots in LA. 18 bucks for a mountain of meat sandwich. I'm in! Recommendation: Pastrami sandwich. Don't forget the bottle of hot mustard and chili cheese fries

Johnnie's Pastrami has been around since the 50's. It is a staple of Los Angeles and a must stop if you are anywhere in the area. It is perfect. The old neon is still there and the place inside is like a diner. There are booths and counter seating. There is also a wonderful patio that has a cover and a fire pit so even if chilly is it is fun. Each booth and the counter has the little table jukeboxes and they still work. It is just so cute and always so clean. The service is amazing. I always watch while they make my burger as I want it rare. They get it right all of the time. Their fries are great and they give you a bunch of them. Their pastrami sandwiches are the best in the City if you want that great dip they have it in. It is not the leanest and I don't care. I want it tasty and it is. They also have a pretty full menu of other items. Their deep fried shrimp is so great. We have never been disappointed here and again, the service is perfect.

Haven't been here in many, many years. One the way to LAX with my son in law, he said he had never been here. Told him we would stop on our way home. Service was good and friendly and the Pastrami Sandwich and Pastrami Burger were very good. He can now check it off his must do list in LA.
